The stage is set for an extraordinary baseball showcase! The 2026 DREAM Series, a prestigious annual event, is just around the corner, and it promises to be a thrilling experience for all baseball enthusiasts.
A Premier Development Camp:
This year's DREAM Series, the ninth edition, will take place at Tempe Diablo Stadium, Arizona, from January 16th to 19th. It's a unique opportunity for a diverse group of elite high school athletes to showcase their skills and receive top-notch training. The event is a collaborative effort between Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball, focusing on the development of minority pitchers and catchers.
But here's what makes it even more exciting: current and former professional players will be there to mentor the next generation of baseball stars! Imagine the inspiration these young athletes will draw from interacting with their heroes.
A Comprehensive Development Program:
Over the four-day camp, participants will engage in rigorous workouts, receive high-level coaching, attend off-field seminars, and undergo athletic testing through the Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) Performance Assessment. This assessment utilizes cutting-edge technology to evaluate cognitive skills, processing speed, athletic prowess, and on-field talent. And the results? They'll be shared with all 30 MLB Clubs and USA Baseball for scouting and national team selection purposes.
And this is the part most people miss—each participant will receive a personalized player report with their evaluation data and training tools to enhance their skills. This level of individual attention is a game-changer for these young athletes.
Performance Tracking and Evaluation:
On-field performance will be closely monitored using Rapsodo technology, providing real-time metrics like launch angle, exit velocity, and spin rate. This technology gives players and coaches immediate feedback, allowing them to make adjustments and improvements during the camp. And for pitchers, Rapsodo provides crucial insights into velocity, spin rate, and spin axis.
An All-Star Coaching Staff:
The DREAM Series boasts an impressive coaching staff, including former big league players, coaches, and managers. With a combined experience of over 170 seasons at the major league level, these mentors know what it takes to succeed. Among them are Marquis Grissom, a 17-year MLB veteran and World Series champion; Mike Harkey, a longtime coach and World Series winner; and Darren Oliver, a 20-year professional.
International Experience Meets Domestic Talent:
Adding to the event's prestige, six players who have represented the United States in international competitions will be in attendance. Samir Mohammed and Taytum Reeves, who played for the 15U National Team, and Dexter McCleon Jr., who faced Australia in a series, will be there. Tristin Gaines, a two-time gold medalist, will make his DREAM Series debut after playing for the 2025 15U National Team. Paris Head and Anthony Murphy, both world champions, will also participate.
A Showcase of Top Talent:
The DREAM Series attracts the best of the best. Among the 80 high school prospects, 27 have already committed to top-tier DI programs, with 14 heading to Southeastern Conference schools. LSU leads the way with four commitments, followed by Texas Tech with three. Houston, Miami, TCU, and Vanderbilt will also welcome future stars from this event.
A Full Circle Journey:
In a heartwarming twist, three active minor league and major league players who previously participated in the DREAM Series and went on to represent USA Baseball will return. Jo Adell, Termarr Johnson, and Braden Montgomery will reconnect with their roots, inspiring the next generation of players.
