When it comes to the world of custom motorcycles, few manufacturers match the level of enthusiasm and creativity that Royal Enfield brings to the table. Each year, this iconic Indian brand collaborates with some of the finest custom builders globally, resulting in stunning bikes that serve as vibrant showcases for their latest models.

At the moment, the spotlight shines brightly on the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, a model that has already captured attention through various exciting renditions crafted by talented workshops in Indonesia, such as Frontwheel Motors, and Japan's Cheetah. Now, we turn our gaze to an impressive build hailing from the very roots of Royal Enfield—India itself.

This striking café racer version of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is the brainchild of Buraq Motorcycles, located in Hyderabad. Built specifically to compete in the recent Busted Knuckles Build-Off, this motorcycle’s dynamic design and premium finishes earned it a well-deserved silver medal in the competition.

As explained by Adnan Hashmi, co-founder of Buraq, their vision was to harmoniously merge the raw power typically associated with drag bikes with the refined aesthetics of café racers. By leveraging the inherent strengths of the Guerrilla 450, they managed to create a bold and innovative reinterpretation of this spirited single-cylinder roadster.

Buraq's ambitious plan included a complete transformation of both the bike's body and its mechanical components. The original subframe was detached and replaced with a meticulously crafted trellis framework. They then added a sleek carbon fiber seat cowl, drawing inspiration from classic muscle motorcycles to enhance its visual appeal.

Nestled beneath the elegantly designed twin-textured seat cover are a custom-made electronics tray and a specialized shock bracket. This rear section is supported by an adjustable Öhlins shock absorber, providing both performance and style.

At the front, Buraq introduced a tailor-made carbon fiber fairing, securely mounted using handcrafted brackets. It features a tinted windscreen sourced from a BMW R 12 nineT, paired with a quirky offset LED headlight embellished with fun decals.

Moving further back, you’ll find a carbon fiber tank cover fitted over an aluminum fuel reservoir, seamlessly following the lines of the original design.

The front end of the bike boasts an array of upgrades, including forks from a Yamaha R1, a steering damper from a BMW R 1250 GS, and a powerful three-piston brake caliper connected to a Nissin master cylinder. Additionally, a Brembo rear brake caliper and braided stainless steel brake hoses enhance its stopping power and reliability.

Delving deeper into the technical aspects, Buraq equipped the bike with a PowerTRONIC ECU and a quick-shifter for improved performance. They crafted a custom stainless steel exhaust system, which pairs perfectly with a lightweight titanium Arrow muffler. Both the air intake and coolant reservoir were designed from scratch, along with a bespoke wiring harness powered by a lightweight Lithium-ion battery.

For those who enjoy aggressive riding, the café racer features clip-on handlebars and Gilles Tooling footpegs attached to custom rear-set brackets, making it ready for spirited rides. Remarkably, this build is also lighter by 30 kilograms (66 pounds) compared to its original form, and a modified rear sprocket adds to the overall thrill by enhancing acceleration.

The finishing touches include a striking combination of deep black and glossy carbon fiber, adorned with eye-catching yellow accents, ensuring this motorcycle looks just as fierce as it performs.
